What we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (stored so even we cannot read it), and optional town.
- Reviews: the text, rating and date you submit, plus any proof of purchase you choose to upload (it is optional).
- Technical data: a one-way mark of your internet connection stored with each review, used only to help spot someone sending the same review again. We do not keep the address itself.
- Business data: for claimed profiles, the details you provide. Card billing is not live yet.
Why we use it
To run the service, to verify that reviews are genuine, to prevent fraud, and to email you about your account and reviews. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Optional proof of purchase
You do not need a receipt to review a business. If you do upload one, it is visible only to our moderation team, stored privately, and deleted 90 days after the decision. Businesses never see it.
Your rights
You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your reviews. For anything else, email privacy@vetted.reviews. You can also complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK that is the ICO.
Retention
Published reviews stay until you delete them or your account. Moderation logs are kept for seven years in anonymised form to support the transparency report.
Third parties
Our email provider (transactional email) and our hosting provider. Both are in the UK/EU or covered by adequate safeguards. Card billing is not live, so no payment processor is connected yet. Public forms use a number-check we generate ourselves. We do not load Google reCAPTCHA or any other third-party captcha.
